In the public notices this week, the Royal Borough has laid out the exact rises in council tax residents can expect. There are also road closures and licensing applications.

Council tax

RBWM has published the council tax levels for 2026/27, setting out the charges residents will pay from Tuesday, April 1.

In Bisham, a Band D property will pay £1,960.57 for the year. Bray is £1,953.24 and Cookham is £1,954.56. In Cox Green, it’s £1,965.89, while Hurley is £1,933.33.

Shottesbrooke has the lowest at £1,894. In Waltham St Lawrence, it’s £1,943.17. White Waltham has the highest Band D charge at £2,040.41 due to its parish precept.

In the unparished Maidenhead area, Band D has been set at £1,936.94.

Licensing

A horse-rearing company, Mehmet-Guest Equestrian Ltd, has applied for a new premises licence for a polo club in Shurlock Row – The Oaks in Martins Lane.

The licence would allow the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises, as well as live and recorded music.

Alcohol could be sold from 12pm to 10pm Monday to Sunday. Live music and recorded music – both inside and outside – would also be permitted during the same hours.

Road closures

A section of Sutton Road in Cookham and Ferry Lane in Bourne End will close at the end of March to allow for gas mains replacement.

The closure will run from the northern boundary of the Sutton Road Car Park up to the borough boundary, extending 10 metres into Bourne End.

Drivers will be unable to use this stretch of road from 12.01am on Monday, March 30 until 11.59pm on Sunday, April 12.

An alternative route will be in place via Hedsor Road, Station Road, The Parade, and Marlow Road.

The diversion continues along Bath Road, Castle Hill, Bad Godesberg Way, St Cloud Way, and Bridge Road.

Meanwhile, sections of High Road in Maidenhead are scheduled to close in three separate phases starting at the end of March for gas mains replacement.

The first phase affects the stretch from the Station Road junction south to the boundary of Crook Cottage.

Phase two moves the work to the area between the junctions of Worster Road and Spencers Lane.

The final phase will close the section of High Road between Halldore Hill and Whyteladyes Lane.

These restrictions are scheduled to begin at 12.01am on Monday, March 30 and are expected to conclude by 11.59pm on Sunday, May 31.
