In the public notices this week the plan to extend opening hours at McDonald’s has been publicised and there ares some road closures in Windsor and Slough.
Licensing
Plans to extend opening hours to enable McDonald’s restaurants in Maidenhead and Windsor to operate 24 hours a day have been submitted to the Royal Borough. Read our report on this here.
Traffic
Slough Council is looking to close the road in Oldway Lane, Slough, from its junction with number 595 Oldway Lane to its junction with the electrical substation in Oldway Lane.
The closure will start at a minute past midnight on Monday, February 9 and will remain in place for up to 18 months, although the works are expected to be completed by 11.59pm on Monday, February 9.
The closure is for roadworks. An alternative route will be provided with diversions clearly marked at the time of closure.
Access will be maintained for local residents and businesses.
Although work is expected to be finished in one day, as in all cases, the closure could last up to 18 months. Any longer and special permission has to be given by the Secretary of State for Transport.

Meanwhile, the Royal Borough is looking to close the road in Russell Street, Windsor, from its junction with number 21 Russell Street westwards to its junction with number 17 Russell Street.
The closure will take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm from Wednesday, February 4 to Thursday, February 5. It is for network ducting works, ie putting in (or repairing) the underground pipes that carry cables.
Access will be maintained for local residents and businesses.
