THE annual meeting of the Henley and District Fanciers’ Society, held on Monday evening, was conspicuous for two things, first that the attendance was larger than heretofore and, secondly, that for the first time, the proceedings were graced by the presence of ladies who, later in the evening, were elected to seats on the committee.
The New Year has started well for the children of Highmoor village. On Friday, January 1, the Sunday School children were entertained to a sumptuous tea at the village hall by Mr and Mrs Gerald de Pass, who personally joined in the games and dances. On Tuesday, January 5, all the school children had a most gorgeous tea provided for them by Mr and Mrs A C Denham.
