A HENLEY Town Council committee has suggested that a small area of land at Laud’s Close, off Deanfield Road, should be taken over by the residents to use as an amenity area. But, following a site meeting, the committee received a petition from 20 residents asking that as many trees as possible should be saved, and that diseased trees should be replaced.
Henley Town Council was condemned by one of its members on Tuesday for its “arrogant and autocratic” behaviour in charging for the use of the town badge. Isabel Carson-Bury complained of the “sheer arrogance of the council in wishing to hold the town’s armorial bearings in their restricted grasp”.
