YOUNGSTERS got in the party mood on Sunday at Harpsden Village Hall for South Oxfordshire Mencap’s Christmas celebrations. The group has been running for just over a year and Sunday’s entertainment began with magician Dr Fox and a dancing competition judged by Standard reporter Sally Bramley. Sally said: “The standard of dancing was extremely high and it was a very difficult decision to make.”
Henley moved a step closer to having CCTV this week — a decision that has been greeted with enthusiasm by shopkeepers. Members of South Oxfordshire District Council’s policy and resources committee supported a proposal for a detailed study on the installation costs for cameras in four town centres in the district.
