A GANG of youths raided Henley last weekend, leaving behind them a trail of wreckage and causing hundreds of pounds of damage. Within hours on Saturday night and early Sunday morning, windows were smashed, cars were overturned and about a dozen calves were sprayed with paint. The vandals’ attack centred on the Deanfield Avenue and Greys Road area of the town. About 20 small panes of glass were shattered at an annexe of the Technical College behind the youth centre.
This year’s Poppy Appeal for Henley and district has set a new record. Almost £900 was collected, beating last year’s record figure. The total of £3,898.78 was collected. Thank to those who donated so generously to the appeal.
