A body found in the River Thames near Wraysbury is believed to be that of a man missing for more than two weeks.
Ruslanas Zaicovas, 50, was reported missing from the Wraysbury area on Monday 26 August 2024.
Officers were called to the Wraysbury/Staines area of the Thames at around 2.30pm yesterday (September 9) following reports of a body in the water.
Formal identification is yet to take place but police believe it to be Ruslanas.
Detective Inspector Liam Butler, based at Maidenhead police station, said: “Sadly, we have discovered the body of a man, who we believe to be Ruslanas.
“Ruslanas’ family have been informed and are being supported by officers. Our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.”
“The death is being treated as unexpected and unexplained, but not suspicious and we are continuing to make enquiries. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
