CHLOE Russell has got the ultimate Christmas gift — a new walker — thanks to a superb response from Henley Standard readers. The nine-year-old’s plight was featured in the Standard in November and several people wrote in offering pledges to help Chloe, who suffers from cerebral palsy, to get a bigger walker.
Traders in Henley are having a mixed Christmas, with some heading towards record sales figures while others fear the worst. Maurice Hall, owner of Bagatelle Toys in Bell Street, said: “It has been a very, very good Christmas and we’ve found our customers to be very loyal and always willing to try Henley first. We’re doing better than last year, and that was our record for sales.”
