To celebrate the birth of the Royal baby, knitting genius Fiona Goble has created a pattern so enthusiasts can knit their own William, Kate and Royal baby.
The pattern includes a woollen Prince William standing next to his wife Kate Middleton who is proudly holding their new arrival.
The Duke of Cambridge stayed overnight with the Duchess of Cambridge at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington following the birth of their healthy baby boy yesterday, who weighed 8lbs 6oz.
In a brief statement issued last night, Prince William said: "We could not be happier."
No name has yet been announced for the third-in-line to the throne, though the bookies' favourites include George and James.
The Royal birth was announced to the world when a document signed by the Queen’s gynaecologist was taken from the hospital to the palace under a police escort and then displayed on an ornate easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace, where it still remains today.
It said: "Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 4.24pm today. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."
