An application to install a BT Street Hub in Maidenhead town centre and temporary road and footpath closures feature in this week’s public notices.
Planning
BT is seeking permission to install a new Street Hub on the pavement outside 116 High Street, following the removal of the two existing BT payphone kiosks.
The new hub will feature digital advertising on both sides of the unit and second application seeking consent to advertise has also been submitted.
The plans are being put forward as part of the BT Street Hubs Project to provide ‘a sleek and modern answer to the demands of a digitally connected society’, the covering letter states
It added that the Street Hubs will help ‘future-proof the High Street making them smarter, safer, and more sustainable’.
Separate applications for a Street Hub in Market Street were submitted towards the end of last year.
