Braywick Court School held a celebration event after being judged as outstanding in all areas for the second time.
Ofsted inspectors paid the school, in Braywick Nature Reserve off Hibbert Road, a visit in April, and found that ‘classrooms buzz with a quiet hum of learning’ and noted that teachers are ‘proud to work in an inspirational environment’.
The report, which was published in June, praised the school for being ‘set within a nature reserve’ which enabled pupils to ‘develop a deep understanding of wildlife and passion to protect the environment’.
Inspectors said school leaders are ‘committed to improving pupils’ life chances and ensuring that they experience success’ and referred to students doing well in Spanish because they started learning the language in pre-school.
Braywick Court Primary School is an academy free school, part of the Bellevue Place Education Trust, that opened in September 2014.
The school is said to provide ‘a rich and inclusive learning environment where pupils become confident, independent learners’.
Following the installation of a community library at the school’s entrance, the report highlighted that ‘strong reading is at the centre of the school’s success’.
Pupils were said to ‘display a love of reading’ and ‘talk confidently’ about the books they read, and were ‘proud of the new reading corner’ they helped to design.
The ‘exceptionally ambitious’ curriculum was also praised by the education watchdog for being ‘exciting and interesting’ with a ‘clear sequence of learning’.
Headteacher Michelle Robertson said: “The Ofsted report is a real celebration of the journey we have been on as a school.
“It has taken years to craft our unique curriculum into what it is today. This outcome is also great recognition of the success we have achieved since Bray Pre-school joined Braywick Court in 2020.
“I’m delighted that this has shined through. We are very proud of our exceptional school community.”
On Friday, June 30, a family fun event was organised after-school by the PTA to celebrate the grading outcome.
A bouncy castle, games and face painting were on offer for children from both the school and pre-school.
