Youngsters and adults gathered to enjoy a thrilling annual cricket tournament in Maidenhead over the weekend.
The Windsor & Maidenhead Community Forum (WAMCF) its 19th annual cricket tournament at Boyne Hill Cricket Club on Sunday.
The forum encompasses nine faith groups, and the first tournament was held between Maidenhead Gurdwara and All Saints Church.
The children’s games started early, with more than 60 children under the age of 13 taking part.
Rev Jeremy Harris, vicar at All Saints Church presented the awards in the afternoon.
Some of the youngsters’ parents stayed on to play in the adult 20/20 match – which was ‘well
contested’ with only two runs between the teams.
Royal Borough mayor Cllr Simon Bond and his consort David Armitage arrived later in the afternoon and watched until the end.
Karnail Pannu, chair of WAMCF, added: “The trophies were presented by the mayor. Trip Pannu kept the score and made a very moving speech.
“These games break the barriers between faiths and create harmony.
“He also appreciated the work done by the Boyne Hill Cricket Club and Mikki Chahal and the parents for involving the children.”
