Slough’s very own celebrity will return home for a special soul performance at the Curve Venue next month.
Internationally recognised singer and songwriter, Nate Simpson is presenting his latest show, a Journey Through R&B Soul and Motown.
Nate was born in Slough and was a keen singer growing up, with many musical influences including Stevie Wonder, Prince, Amy Winehouse and Aretha Franklin.
It wasn't until he went to Desborough School in Maidenhead that he decided to pursue a music career, and he went on to be in The X-Factor in 2016 and a finalist on BBC1’s Eurovision: You Decide in 2017.
He is known for his 'soulful, fluid vocals' and his debut single achieved national airplay. He went on to play a host of high-profile gigs and festivals both nationally and internationally.
He has played on lineups that include the likes of Corrine Bailey Rae, Beverly Knight, Jamie Cullum, Jessie J, Jacob Collier and Boy George.
Nate also played Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder in the smash hit West End musical Motown, Simba in The Lion King in Paris, Bob Marley in Get Up Stand Up The Musical and Nat King Cole on the UK Crooners tour.
A Journey Through R&B Soul and Motown takes place at the Curve Venue on Friday, March 8 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £15.
This event is programmed by Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, as part of the new partnership between Norden Farm and Slough Borough Council to develop the venue at The Curve as a key cultural community hub for Slough. It is supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
