HENLEY Rowing Club’s juniors picked up six wins at last Saturday’s Reading Small Boats Head.
Conditions on the day were good for the circa 450 crews racing in the three divisions over the 3,700m course from the Roebuck Hotel down to Reading Rowing Club.
Henley boys picked up three wins in U16 quads, U16 double sculls and U14 coxed quads.
For the girls, wins came in U17 coxed fours Scarlett Hyde, Izzy Hughes, Holly Jackson, Daisy Millard and cox Elise Pindori having a convincing 37 second win against Wimbledon High School.
Hughes then swapped from sweep to sculling to pick up a win in U16 quads with team-mates Polina Bezuhly, Juliet Len and Emily Robinson, beating Marlow RC by 13 seconds. Also picking up a second win was Hyde who with Sophie Floyd won the U17 girls’ pairs by eight seconds against Wallingford Rowing Club.
