The official opening and launch of Maidenhead United’s new covered 3G Astroturf, 'The Cage', will be taking place on Saturday, October 17 at the Magpies' York Road ground prior to the first team game against Weston-Super-Mare.
To celebrate the club will be holding a 'Junior Magpies' day. Normal adult ticket prices will apply, however, there will be free entry for children under the age of 16 who on arrival will also be able to book a free half-hour session to play in ‘The Cage’. Sessions will run between 2.30pm and 5pm under the guidance of one of the Magpies in the Community coaches. The first 100 children will also get a voucher for a free soft drink.
The club is looking for someone to take part in the official opening of The Cage, a ceremony that will be held at 2pm that day and the lucky winner will be included in the opening ceremony alongside club chairman Peter Griffin, manager Alan Devonshire and some players from the first team. Along with this they will also appear in the Maidenhead Advertiser photo coverage of this event.
