A consultation has been launched which could see a pub replaced by a new community and health hub in Langley.
Slough Borough Council gained the leasehold of the Merrymakers Pub, in Meadow Lane, in November along with six residential properties with the view to create a potential mixed-use redevelopment.
The New Langley Community Association is also based on the site.
The proposals were discussed at the council's Cabinet meeting on Monday at Chalvey Community Centre, and were likened to the council's regeneration project in Britwell.
Speaking at the meeting, interim head of asset management Stephen Gibson said: "We need to speak to everybody in the area and ask them what can go into a community hall and we can run a number of presentations and workshops."
Options include a neighbourhood housing office, a new GP practice in place of the former practice at 324 Trelawney Avenue, which is unoccupied, or new housing between 265 and 298 Trelawney Avenue.
Householders at 313-323 Trelawney Avenue will also be consulted to advise them of the potential redevelopment and discuss options for relocation.
Kedermister councillor Chrissy Small told the meeting: "When I first saw this plan I was really excited that there may be a new doctors' surgery.
"Over the past 60 years I have lived on the estate, there has always been a doctors' surgery but now the older people have to go to the village on the bus so we desperately need one."
Speaking after the meeting, Daphne Wright, chairwoman of the New Langley Community Association said she thought the plans were a 'wonderful idea'.
She said: "It would be brilliant for the community and a brand new hall would mean we could do so much more than we do now.
"It's crucial that they listen to the people in Langley and take note of what we want."
The consultation is due to be launched in January.
