Thames Valley Police has launched an attempted murder investigation after a man was stabbed in Langley on Saturday.

At just after 4.45pm, police received a call from South Central Ambulance Service, stating that they had been called to an incident outside Langley Grammar School on Reddington Drive in which a 19-year-old man had been stabbed in the arm twice.

Police, including an armed response unit attended the location of the incident after a further 999 call from a member of the public stating that a person was in Kedermister Park with a machete around five minutes earlier.

Three people were described to have left the scene in a silver hatchback vehicle, possibly a Ford Fiesta.

These individuals are all male, aged in their teens to early twenties.

No further description of them is available at this time.

No arrests have been made.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries and he remains there in a stable condition.

Detective Inspector Ryan Powell, of Slough CID, said: “This was a violent incident which has occurred on a hot Saturday afternoon. As a result of the incident, a Section 60 stop and search order has been enacted for a 24-hour period between 6pm last night and 6pm this evening.

“This may be extended, should it be deemed necessary to do so.

“I am appealing to anybody who witnessed the incident, or who may have any information that can assist this investigation to please contact Thames Valley Police, either online via our website, or by calling 101, quoting reference 43250350444.

"Alternatively, for 100% anonymity, you can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“I’m particularly keen to hear from the three people seen to leave the area in the vehicle, as I believe they will have important information to assist us.

“Although at this stage, we have not made any arrests, I do believe that the offenders and victim are known to each other, and that this was a targeted attack.

“There is an increased presence of officers in the area, and if you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to one of them.

“The Section 60 order is in place in order to prevent further violence. If you are stopped and searched, please do not be worried, as this does not mean that you are in trouble.

“Our officers will be happy to address any concerns with you.

“Violence such as this will not be tolerated in our community, and we are determined to locate those responsible and bring them to justice.”
