Rubbish at a recycling centre in Wraysbury went up in flames last night (Wednesday).

About 200 tonnes of rubbish at Fowles Crushed Concrete Ltd in Hythe End Road caught fire.

Firefighters from Langley were called to the scene at 10pm and were assisted by two crews and a water douser from Surrey.

Crews were tackling the fire until 3am this morning (Thursday) and moved machinery out of harms way.

After five hours the crews left and will return today to check on the scene.

Watch manager Mike Jeeves from Langley Fire Station said the fire could have been caused by the hot weather or sunlight refracting onto the rubbish.
