This week’s public notices include fresh plans to build 14 flats on land at Langley Grammar School.
Planning
Fresh plans have been submitted to demolish the old caretaker’s house at Langley Grammar School and replace it with flats.
Slough Borough Council rejected proposals by the secondary school, in Reddington Drive, earlier this year to redevelop the unused building.
Members of the local authority’s planning committee said the previous scheme for 13 one- and two-bedroom properties did not provide enough family homes or adequate parking.
The new plans propose the construction of 14 flats, including one three-bedroom, five two-bedroom and eight one-bedroom homes.
A total of 20 car parking spaces are also planned.
Langley Grammar School said the development will help raise funds to improve the school’s sports facilities, which can then be used by members of the public in out-of-school hours.
A design and access statement said: “It is important to emphasise that the school operates its sports facilities for community use outside school hours, so the improved facilities would be for the benefit for its own students and for local primary schools, youth groups and other community organisations.”
If approved, money generated by the redevelopment will also be used to pay back the Department for Education for a purpose-built dance studio which has been built at the school.

Traffic
The Royal Borough is proposing an order which will reinforce a number of traffic restrictions ahead of the potential introduction of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras to tackle illegal driving.
The council has been invited by the Government to apply to use ANPR cameras to stamp out issues including ignoring no entry signs and driving in pedestrian zones.
A six-week consultation is currently underway to decide where best to introduce the new technology.
An order is being made for traffic restrictions to be reinforced at some of the following locations:
