Sharp-shooter Chris Ellis scored four goals as Maidenhead Cosmos ran riot in the second half to overwhelm Burnham Garibaldi 6-0 on Sunday.
Following their impressive win over Division 2 leaders Slough United the previous week, a confident Cosmos dominated the early exchanges before taking the lead on 25 minutes when Ellis rifled the ball into the top corner from an acute angle as it fell back to him from his own corner.
The visitors, assisted by the elements throughout the first half, couldn’t break down the resolute Cosmos defence and, as the match wore on, Toby Francis controlled the tempo of the game allowing the Cosmos trio of Ellis, Jon Schaaf and Chris Selby to create havoc up front.
Ellis went on to take his tally to four goals while Schaaf grabbed a brace as Cosmos eased their way to three points.
Cosmos have the opportunity to maintain their good form when they head to Eton Wick-based Ravens United on Sunday who are bottom of Division 2 with one victory from 16 starts .
