Dhol Drumming and dancing at upcoming Norden Farm Kite Festival

03:20PM, Friday 15 August 2025

A festival of creativity will take over Boyn Grove Park this August as youngsters enjoy storytelling and fly colourful kites.

Norden Farm’s popular Kite Festival is back for another year on Sunday, August 31 and will see guests enjoy live music, entertainment and plenty of food and drink from noon to 4pm.

An array of kite creations will be cascading through the skies and there will also be an opportunity to enjoy some kite-making on the day.

Miss High Leg Kick’s Bird Rave will keep visitors dancing at an interactive performance featuring a soundtrack of classic rave tunes.

Bird Rave is a project focusing on extraordinary birds and the choreography of nature.

Guests are invited to watch the performance, take part in some bird spotting and learn some old-school rave moves.

Birds to spot include Hooded Crow, Hummingbird, Blue-backed Manakin and Yellow-crested Cockatoo.

Dancers will be showing off their moves as The Dhol Collective entertain with some energetic drumming, fusing together traditional Punjabi folk rhythms with popular modern music.

There will be live music to enjoy from local talent, including headliners Soulful Sisters.

Youngsters will be treated to storytelling with children’s author Simon Mole at the free-to-attend event.

The Norden Farm festival bar will be serving up a host of refreshments, including soft drinks and Rebellion Brewery IPA and lager.

There will be plenty of food stalls to enjoy, including handmade pizzas from Presto Italian, Punjabi cuisine from Ka Na Homecooked and barbecue food from Smoking Skewers.

Franca's Ice cream will be on hand to provide some sweet treats and visitors can also enjoy homemade cookies from Get Whisked Away and speciality teas, coffees and hot chocolates from Jessie's Coffee Truck.

Guests can bring along their picnic blankets or camping chairs on the day.

Visitors can get creative ahead of the event and make their own kite or buy one on the day to decorate (subject to availability), or bring along a shop-bought kite.

A drop-in kite-making workshops will take place on Friday, August 29 and Saturday, August 30 at Norden Farm and on Saturday, August 26 in the Nicholsons Centre.

The festival is supported by funding from The Prince Philip Trust Fund, The Cyril Taylor Charitable Foundation and Spoore, Merry and Rixman Foundation.

Optalis and GoodGym Windsor and Maidenhead are also supporters.
