Greenery could soon be looking glorious across the whole of Eton after the town council and Eton Community Association (ECA) struck a deal with a new contractor.
Excellent Plants will now look after vegetation in Jubilee Square and by Baldwin’s Bridge.
Eton Town Council will pay for the work but it will also be supported by Eton College and the Baldwin’s Bridge Trust.
A booklet titled Discover Eton has also been unveiled to help boost the town’s profile. The pamphlet features artwork depicting the different shops and restaurants to visit in Eton High Street and offers a potted history of the town in four different languages.
Artists Ieva Poriete, Louise Knutt and Laura Kadhani provided illustrations while the booklet was also supported by Eton College and the ECA.
Roz Rivaz, ECA chairman, said: “We thought it would be quite a nice appetizer so people can get to know Eton.”
