Police in Slough have arrested a 23-year-old man as an investigation into the attack and suspected attempted kidnapping of a pedestrian continues.

The man remains in custody, the force said, while an appeal for witnesses has been launched following the attack in Carlton Road at around 9pm on Monday (October 13).

The occupants of two vehicles parked in the road were seen to attack the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, with one person attempting to push him into one of their vehicles.

The attempt failed, police said, but attacks on the victim continued until the group re-entered their vehicles and drove away from the scene towards Broadmark Road.

Thames Valley Police detective sergeant Marcus Burrows, investigating officer, said the force was appealing for information and believed the attack to be ‘an isolated incident’.

DS Burrows said: “I am appealing to anybody who witnessed this this assault, or anyone who may have information that could assist our investigation to please get in touch.

“We know the offending vehicles travelled towards Broadmark Road turning left into Elmwood Road so we are asking if anyone was driving in the area at this time to please check their dashcam footage.

“We understand this incident may cause concern in the area. We would like to reassure the community that we believe this is an isolated incident and we are trying to gather as much information as possible at this stage.

“If you think you have any footage or information that can help us, please make a report via our website or by calling 101, quoting crime reference number 43250523485.

“Alternatively, for 100% anonymity, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
