INSPIRING, exciting, intriguing and relaxing — it’s time to celebrate all things natural, wild, green and good for the planet at the Oxford Festival of Nature!
Everything kicks off on June 4 with two linked events. Oxford’s Big Green Day Out in Broad Street is complemented by the Wild Fair at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History in Parks Road.
Both events are open from 10am with creative workshops, crocodiles, birds of prey, plants for pollinators, ethical crafts, local food and live music.
The Oxford Festival of Nature, a wildlife extravaganza from June 1 to 14 is organised by the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust with many local groups.
Explore our complex relationship with nature at Waterstones on June 8 in the company of passionate naturalists, Charles Foster and Hugh Warwick. Get close to bats, birds and bees at events outside Oxford. Take a Thames wildlife cruise and choose your favourite flowers for pollinators at a specialist nursery.
Will human development and sustainability always be in conflict? Join the discussion on June 11 between storyteller Michael Morpurgo and advocate for global development, Prof Ian Goldin, of Oxford Martin School.
