Concord Rangers 0, Slough Town 0

Slough Town will need to replay their FA Trophy third round qualifying tie against Concord Rangers at Arbour Park on Tuesday evening, after a goalless draw at The Aspect Arena.

In a game of few chances, Slough’s Ben Harris saw his early penalty kick saved which proved to be the visitors’ best chance.

Dan Roberts fashioned a chance for himself after stealing the ball from a defender but his effort deflected over the bar. From the resulting corner, referee Steven Hughes spotted a handball offence giving the Rebels an opportunity to open the scoring. However, Rangers keeper Chris Haigh got down well to keep out the striker’s effort.

Max Worsfold had two chances to break the stalemate midway through the first half but neither were able to find the net, the first being blocked and the second harmlessly dealt with by Haigh.

Concord striker Joel Nouble hit the crossbar with eight minutes of the first half remaining but both sides entered the break level.

Slough needed Turner to come to the rescue just after the hour mark, pulling off a fine save to deny Lamar Reynolds after the player was sent through one-on-one.

The Rebels challenged the hosts’ goal just once more just 13 minutes from time, Sam Togwell’s header just sailing over the bar from a Warren Harris cross. And Concord could have settled the tie in the final five minutes but Kit Elliott fired over from Nouble’s ball.

The two sides will replay on Tuesday evening with a place in the First Round at stake.

Marlow 1, Harlow Town 1

Marlow FC struggled once more to secure all three points as they were held to a third successive 1-1 draw in the Isthmian South Central against Harlow Town.

The Blues fell behind on 18 minutes to Harlow’s Tayo Oyebola and had to rely on Kelvin Bossman equalising just after the half hour mark to level matters entering the break. The forward latched onto a deflection and rounded the Hawks keeper to slot home.

Both sides hit the bar in the second half but clear cut chances were scarce and at a premium with difficult conditions making it tricky for either side to snatch a win.

The point keeps Marlow in 12th place of the league ahead of Tuesday evening’s fixture against second-placed Ware.

Royal Wootton Bassett Town 2, Flackwell Heath 1

Marcus Richardson’s men left it late to show their intent as they went down 2-1 to Royal Wootton Bassett Town on Saturday.

An inspired second half display saw Bassett record their first home win of the season with goals from TJ Bohane (50’) and Gio Wrona (64’) giving Sam Collier’s side a vital three points.

Ceesay was able to pull one back for the visitors but by that stage the game was already dead and buried.

The result leaves Flackwell in 15th of the Hellenic League Premier but with games in hand. They play Lydney Town away next Saturday.

Longlevens 6, Burnham 2

Burnham’s impressive form of late came to a dramatic end in a thumping eight goal thriller that saw Longlevens come out as victors.

The Blues travelled to Gloucester in high spirits having won four of their last five games, but Longlevens made it no comfortable visit for Paul Shone and his men.

Harry Emmett (four), Jack Cornell (one) and Bradley Martin (one) were all on target for the hosts whilst Burnham could only salvage two.

They stay in ninth place of the Hellenic League Premier. The Blues will be hoping to get back on winning ways in a tough outing against play second-placed Fairford Town next Saturday.

Wycombe Wanderers 1, Doncaster Rovers 0

Joe Jacobson’s 92nd minute penalty gave Wycombe their fourth league win in a row and a total of ten games unbeaten putting the Wanderers in top spot of the League One table.

Gareth Ainsworth was forced to rely on his defender’s ice cool nerves as the Chairboys were awarded a penalty in the final minutes to snatch a result against Doncaster on Saturday.

The victory gives Wycombe the cushion of a five point gap at the top. They play Ipswich Town next on Tuesday night, 7.45pm kick-off.

Brentford 1, Reading 0

In a well-contested affair at Griffin Park, Brentford edged a 1-0 victory to hand Mark Bowen his first loss of his Reading tenure.

The Royals went into the game on the back of an impressive run of form, notching ten points from a possible 12 since Bowen’s appointment.

But Ollie Watkins’ header just after the hour mark gave the Bees a slender scoreline and ensure Reading would travel home empty-handed.

The Royals remain just above relegation in 18th spot of the Championship. They play Leeds next on Tuesday evening.
