Maidenhead Hockey Club are holding their Open Day on Sunday and are inviting the local community to come along and enjoy a free afternoon of hockey-based games.
The event is open to all ages and abilities from those looking at possibly returning to the game to those who’ve never picked up a stick in their life.
The aim is to encourage locals to give the sport a try and to have some fun. It also provides those who’ve some experience of the game a chance to come down and enjoy a free session and see if they think Maidenhead might be the place to play their hockey this season.
Perhaps you have been inspired by the recent European championship, and you are keen to try your hand at a new sport, you have been meaning to get back into the game, or you are looking for a new club?
The event is open to those of all abilities and with all levels of experience.
There will be Club coaches available throughout the event to provide tips and support, as well as existing members to answer any questions you may have.
The Open Day takes place at the Altwood Astro, Altwood Road, Maidenhead (SL6 4PU) on Sunday from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
David Joshua, Director of Hockey, Maidenhead Hockey Club added: "We are opening our doors to the local community in the hope that we may be able to encourage some new members to join our friendly and welcoming Club.
“The open event is a great way to try out the sport and/or to find out a bit more about what we have to offer - with no pressure to sign up or join on the day!
“There will be refreshments and lots of fun activities to take part in, throughout the afternoon – suitable for all ages, so why not call in.”
Refreshments will be available for sale at the event.
Maidenhead Hockey Club is a family friendly club and is actively looking to recruit new members, both for its adults and colts divisions.
