Harry Pritchard leads the Magpies players through their warm-ups
Maidenhead win 2-1! What a finish and what a player the Magpies appear to have found in Josh Popoola!
90' GOALLLLLL! Josh Popoola restores Maidenhead's lead.
Liam Dulson does brilliantly to hang the cross up for Andrews who nods it back into the middle and Popoola somehow manages to turn his man and poke the ball past Haigh to make it 2-1.
90+2' | He's something special this boy!

Corie Andrews heads down to Popoola on the penalty spot, his first effort is blocked. But his seconds trickles into the near post and we regain the lead!

89' Goal Chelmsford. A free kick is curled onto the post and bounces back out for Jack Barham to tap home. 1-1
That's really punctured the atmosphere here at York Road.
88' Josh Umerah is replaced by Corie Andrews for the Magpies
87' Do Maidenhead have the experience to see out this game. They'll feel they've done enough to win it, but Chelmsford are coming on strong now with Van Stappershoef making another save. 1-0
82' What a strike from Kai Yearn. He bends the ball over Haigh but it hits the underside of the crossbar and Chelmsford clear. From the follow up Dulson has a chance to wrap up the points but Haigh saves well! That would have killed the game right there, but the Clarets survive! 1-0
81' Odusanya blasts a chance over the bar for Chelmsford from outside the area. You sense Maidenhead need to make a few changes now as it's gone a bit flat.
80' The Clarets have made some changes and look more threatening. Feels like the Magpies are holding on just a little! They're just struggling to clear their lines now. 1-0
73' Van Stappershoef makes a brilliant double save to deny Chelmsford. Junior Nkeng with the second effort for the Clarets and he really should have scored. A wonderful stop but has the Dutch keeper injured himself in the process? Hopefully not. That could have been a match-winning contribution there. 1-0
Lyle Taylor had the original shot which Van Stappershoef parried
72' Maidenhead appear to have a measure of control here, but their lead remains a slim one going into the final 20 minutes or so. They'll need a second to kill off Chelmsford here. 1-0
(Although both games in the 2016/17 season finished 1-0 to Maidenhead United. Dave Tarpey with both of those goals).
67' First change for the Magpies this afternoon.
67' | Kai Yearn comes on in our first change.

65' The Magpies are countering on the Clarets fairly effectively here. They force another corner. Their fourth or fifth of the half 1-0
63' Umerah works hard to get the ball under control from Popoola's cross but his shot is deflected behind for another corner. From the corner, Popoola's inswinger nearly catches out Haigh who has to push it over the bar once again. 1-0
62' Popoola's ball into the box looks to have drifted too far, but Remy gets on the end of it and it's diverted behind for a corner on the other side. 1-0
Attendance this afternoon: 1,190
54' Looks like Clarets are going to press plenty of men forward this half as they chase an equaliser. If Maidenhead can play through that press they may have some chances on the counter. 1-0
52' Jayden Mitchell-Lawson gets to the byline and tries to slip the ball across for Popoola to tap home, but the Magpies don't quite get it right and the Clarets clear under great pressure with Haigh eventually able to get his hands on the ball. That could so easily have been Maidenhead's second but it remains 1-0
Castiglione the man who managed to get between the ball and Popoola for Chelmsford. Important intervention.
48' Corner for Maidenhead skims the top of Remy Clerima's head and Chelmsford are able to clear. Barham is then brought down by Ragguette. 1-0
47' The Clarets have had the better of the opening minutes in the second half. They've had Maidenhead pinned in but no real efforts to show for that pressure. 1-0
46' Back underway at York Road. Maidenhead looking to preserve or maybe even build upon their 1-0 lead.

Half-time Maidenhead United 1-0 Chelmsford City
Dulson the difference maker at the break! pic.twitter.com/IjfniLhoD4

Four minutes of added time.
Dulson's volley was well struck and caught the Chelmsford keeper unawares I think as it went right down the middle of the goal. 1-0
42' GOAL MAIDENHEAD! Liam Dulson volleys the Magpies in front after Cochrane had hit the crossbar from Ragguette's excellent cross. 1-0

38' A fine attempt from distance from Ragguette. He stings the palms of Haigh with a rasping drive. 0-0
35' Dev was saying the Magpies played so well the other night at Bath because the pitch was wet and their play was slicker because of it. This is another slow, laboured performance and perhaps the dryer pitch isn't helping with that. 0-0
33' With a better final ball on a few occasions, Chelmsford would be at least one or two goals to the good. The Magpies have been able to weather their poor first half performance so far but will need to improve. 0-0
30' Kane Ferdinand looked like he was bundled over in the area, but the referee wasn't interested. Magpies fans claims fall on deaf ears. The cross is then chipped back into the area but Haigh claims under pressure. 0-0
27' Great block from Bartley to deny Kadiabor from just inside the area. More pressure from the visitors. United haven't been able to get their danger men into this game so far. Popoola, Dulson, Umerah, Mitchell-Lawson have been kept very quiet. 0-0
25' Whenever this man has the ball Maidenhead look calm and composed.
— Maidenhead United (@MUFCYorkRoad) September 6, 2025
20' Maidenhead look threatening from a ball in to the area from Cochrane. Remy Clerima heads it back across the area but no one is there to knock the ball home for the Magpies. 0-0
The Magpies just look a bit uncertain in defence without their captain Will de Havilland. Bartley and Clerima are just working out each other's games a little here and Cochrane has also just given the ball away very poorly which led to a Chelmsford chance. Things to work on here for the Magpies, can they correct them in time? 0-0
15' Great low save from Van Stappershoef to deny Jack Barham who'd skipped past challenges to get into the area from the right. 0-0
14' At the other end, Popoola lets fly from distance and very nearly beats Haigh at his near post. That was a good save from the Clarets keeper. 0-0
13' Another attempt from Remy from the left edge of the area for the Clarets. It was comfortable for Van Stappershoef but they worked the opening with ease which will concern Maidenhead. 0-0
11' Chelmsford look to be well up for the battle today. They'll have been stung by Monday's 5-2 home defeat and eager to make amends. So far, they're in control and Maidenhead are on the back foot. 0-0
9' Chelmsford quicker to the ball at the moment. They're the side setting the tempo. Magpies haven't made the fastest start, but no real chances of note as yet. 0-0
As I write that, Jack Barham has a flier from distance but it rolls along the ground and is easy for Van Stappershoef.
6' Jayden Mitchell-Lawson has gone down injured and hasn't moved a lot since. Hopefully he's ok. Ref went on for ages before the Magpies eventually conceded a foul 0-0
2' Big early chance for the Clarets as Shiloh Remy's low cross causes panic in the Magpies area, but the hosts manage to hack the ball away. That could so easily have been 1-0 to the visitors though. 0-0
3' | Brilliant from Jordon Ragguette! ⛔️
— Maidenhead United (@MUFCYorkRoad) September 6, 2025
Shiloh Remy delivers a dangerous ball across the area but Ragguette gets a crucial foot in to stop Jack Barham tapping into an empty net.
0-0
1' We're underway at York Road. Maidenhead are attacking down the slope to the Canal End in the first half. 0-0

The players are out on the turf at York Road. The Magpies getting together for a huddle before kick off. The visitors, in claret and white are doing likewise. Looking forward to this one, a big game between two really fancied teams this season.

Maidenhead United clicked as an attacking unit in Somerset in midweek, running riot against the Romans of Bath City.
Manager Alan Devonshire said it was always going to take this completely new side a while to find their feet, but it looks like they're starting to gel very nicely together.
Here's what the Magpies manager said this week.

First of all let's take you through the two team line ups this afternoon. There's one change for the Magpies with captain Will de Havilland missing out through a concussion injury he received at Twerton Park on Tuesday. He's replaced by Ryan Bartley.

Maidenhead United return to York Road to play one of their potential promotion rivals in Chelmsford City this afternoon. The Magpies have found their form in recent weeks and go into today's game looking for their fourth straight victory in the National League South having initially struggled to find their feet at their return to this level in their first four games. On Tuesday evening things clicked for them in a big way as they dismantled Bath City 4-0 away from home. Josh Popoola and Liam Dulson were on target in that one.
Chelmsford are level with the Magpies on 11 points and a few places behind them in the table in ninth. They've also made a solid start to the season and were going along very nicely until Monday evening's 5-2 home defeat to Farnborough.
