Firefighters were called to Petersfield Avenue, Slough at around 4.15am this morning to a fire at a garage.
UPDATE - November 26: Police are now appealing for witnesses following yesterday’s (November 25) fire in Petersfield Avenue.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Zoe Batten, based at Slough police station, said: “We are looking to speak to any witnesses or anyone who has any information in relation to the incident.
“Please get in touch by either making a report online or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43220531136.
“Alternatively, for 100 per cent anonymity, you can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
Firefighters were called to a garage fire in Petersfield Avenue this morning (Friday) in an incident which saw neighbours forced to close their doors and windows.
Maidenhead fire station was called to the scene at around 4.15am, with the fire taking several hours to fully extinguish.
At 9.35am, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire had been put out, with a crew remaining on the scene to dampen down hot embers.
It added that there was no need for neighbouring residents to relocate.
In a statement, a spokesperson for RBFRS said:
"At 03:56am on Friday, 25 November, we received reports of a commercial building fire on Petersfield Avenue, Slough.
"Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Slough, Langley, Windsor and Maidenhead were sent to the scene, along with three officers.
"The Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) from Whitley Wood Fire Station was also sent to the scene.
"Upon arrival, crews discovered a two-storey commercial building on fire.
"The fire was extinguished using external monitors along with the use of an aerial ladder platform.
"Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building to check there was no further fire spread.
"A light portable pump was also used to recycle water run-off from the incident.
"A fire crew remains at the scene and is damping down."
