The world’s largest tool company has agreed a deal to move into the Tempo Maidenhead building once the project is complete.
Stanley Black & Decker is set to lease the top floor of the former Three building which has been undergoing refurbishment over the past 18 months.
Legal and General Investment Management had originally hoped work on the sustainable office building would be completed by May 2023.
But the project is now expected to be finished in Spring 2024.
Rob Codling, senior fund manager at LGIM said: “We are incredibly happy to welcome Stanley Black & Decker and to accomplish a deal before practical completion.
“This letting confirms that the market for occupiers seeking high quality space for their employees is continuing to thrive. We strongly believe that a commitment to delivering an outstanding product with abundant amenities will attract the best occupiers and generate a strong rental income for our investors.”
US firm Stanley Black & Decker is moving to the Tempo building having previously been based in Bath Road, Slough.
Alan Carswell, property director at Stanley Black & Decker added: “The combination of a fantastic space, great location and the comprehensive amenity offering makes Tempo a perfect fit for our company.
“The values the building holds of sustainability, community and quality align seamlessly with our business goals, making our future move to Tempo Maidenhead exciting – both for our staff and the business.”
Tempo has also signed up Oxford-based Missing Bean, specialists in ethically sourced artisan coffee, who will operate from the ground floor café once the building is open.
The café, which will be open to members of the public, will also transform into a wine bar in the evening.
