Police cordon on the scene at Phyllis Court Drive
A MURDER investigation has been launched after the death of a woman in Henley.
A 44-year-old man from Henley was arrested and remains in police custody following the death of a woman, who has not been formally identified.
At around 7.50am this morning (March 6), officers were called to Phyllis Court Drive in Henley.
A cordon can be seen on the grounds of Phyllis Court Club, and officers remain on the public footpath, across the River Thames, opposite the Club, blocking walkers, runners and cyclists.
Detective Inspector Rob Underhill said: “The investigation is still in its early stages; however, an arrest has been made, and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.”
There will be an increased police presence in the area while the investigation is ongoing.
He added: “I want to reassure the community that there is no risk to the wider public.
“Members of the public are likely to see an increased police presence while we continue to investigate, and we would advise anyone with any concerns to please speak to one of our uniformed officers.”
