A classic film memorabilia event rich with nostalgia is set for Cookham on Saturday.
The Film Memorabilia event is set for October 26, 9am to 4pm, at The Odney Club in Cookham.
It will see stars of screen from yesteryear available for autographs and selfies – as well as more than 40 dealer tables selling posters, photos, books, DVDs, VHS tapes and other memorabilia.
The event has been set up by Harry Malcolm and Mark Hochman, who is also the owner of Vintage Movie Posters in Amersham.
Among the guests is revered Bond film director John Glen, actor Derren Nesbitt (Where Eagles Dare), Hammer Horror actresses Maddie Smith and Jenny Hanley, and renowned poster Graham Humphreys.
Mr Humphreys will be selling copies of his new book Nightmare on One Sheet, a volume of work showcasing his talents.
It contains 100 new paintings, many of them created during the pandemic. Signed copies will be available on the day.
In addition, Derren Nesbitt is bringing with him some personnel photos from Where Eagles Dare.
Guests ‘can’t wait’ to welcome guests and talk about the work they were part of, from Bond and Hammer Horror to Carry On films.
New to the guest list is the actor, author and singer John Westwood, who will be officially launching his new book, The Horror Movie Compendium, with signed copies available on the day.
He will also be taking a handful of his novels Breeding and The Secret in the Cellar, available on a first-come-first-served basis.
As well as all this excitement, Bourne End Auction rooms, which has agreed to sponsor the event, will be holding a free valuation day.
There will also be a display put together by organisers Mark and Harry of classic film posters across the decades.
Previously the memorabilia event was hosted Oakley Court in Bray for several years and was well-received. Its change in venue allows it to celebrate Cookham's own rich history of cinema.
Entry price is £5 and parking is free.
