A dealer from Maidenhead has been jailed after police uncovered a drugs stash hidden inside a safe in his car, as well as £15,000 in cash.
Simon Vollrath, of Bissley Drive in Cox Green, was sentenced to two years and seven months in prison at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday, September 16.
The 23-year-old had earlier pleaded guilty to five counts of possession with intent to supply various class A and B drugs including cocaine, MDMA and psilocybin (magic mushrooms).
Investigating officer PC Tom Hughes-Parry of the Slough Proactive Team said Vollrath’s sentence ‘sends a clear message that drug dealing will not be tolerated’. Thames Valley Police said the drug offences had taken place in Slough.
A stash of drugs (pictured) was found inside a vehicle belonging to Vollrath.
Vollrath’s crimes began to unravel after he fled officers who tried to stop his vehicle in Maidenhead on March 15 this year. He was tracked down and arrested later that day.
A search of his vehicle revealed keys to another car, which police also located.
Inside that car, police said, was a ‘safe containing drugs’ and £15,000 in cash. An image of the drugs stash showed a haul of various substances carefully packaged in plastic bags.
Vollrath, who was charged the day after his arrest, pleaded guilty to three counts each of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, namely cocaine, MDMA and psilocybin.
He also pleaded guilty to two counts each of possession with intent to supply class B drugs, namely cannabis and ketamine.
Investigating officer PC Tom Hughes-Parry of the Slough Proactive Team said: "I am pleased that Vollrath has been convicted and given a custodial sentence by the courts.
“This conviction sends a clear message that drug dealing will not be tolerated in our communities.
“We are committed to disrupting the supply of harmful substances and bringing offenders to justice. I hope this outcome reassures the public that we will continue to act on intelligence and work tirelessly to keep our streets safe.”
