A man has been charged in connection with an attempted robbery of a betting shop in Slough on Friday (January 19).
The charges relate to an incident at the branch of Coral in Chalvey Road West at 12.25pm on Friday (January 19) when a man threatened a staff member with a knife and demanded money.
Naheen Bashir, 32, of Martin Road was arrested on the same day and was charged yesterday (January 20).
Bashir has been charged with one count of attempted robbery, one count of possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed object in a public place and two counts of using threatening/abusive/insulting words or behaviour to cause alarm or distress.
He is due to appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (January 22).
