New book details development and launch of Norden Farm

For the lead singer, Paul M, of the Paul McCartney celebration band, ‘Band On The Run’ it was more a case of ‘Nose On The Run’, as the poor chap had recently returned from a break in the sunny climes of Malta with both a suntan and a rotten cold.

Not that it stopped him from putting in a sterling performance along with Crazz, Mike, Dave and Bill, as opposed to John, George and Ringo and Linda and Denny, of an eclectic selection of Sir Paul's incredible musical output over the years.

From The Beatles and Wings classics to a few solo renditions, this tight, note perfect group did Macca proud.  Never claiming to be a tribute band, this was a highly respectful celebration that caught the essence of McCartney and showcased just what a musical genius he is.

Being a big Beatles and McCartney fan, I’m somewhat swayed in my opinion, but I’ve seen a lot of cover and tribute bands of varying quality.  From the excellent ‘Bootlegs Beatles’ to when on holiday in Greece a few years ago I saw ‘Abbey Rhodes’ that I still have nightmares about, but I shall sleep peacefully after this show.

Despite fighting a head cold, with a little help from his friends, Paul M and his pals put on a great show that wasn’t to be sniffed at.
