The White Oak pub and restaurant in Cookham has been been awarded the accolade of a Bib Gourmand in the 2013 Michelin Guide to Great Britain and Ireland.
The Michelin Guide is one of the most revered restaurant guide amongst chefs, restaurant critics and diners alike.
Michelin states that restaurants awarded a Bib Gourmand are 'establishments offering good quality cuisine for under £28 (price of a three-course meal not including drinks).'
Chef patron Clive Dixon has created an offering where diners can enjoy food at modest prices and at value.
He joined the team in December 2011. Having previously earned a Michelin star at the Lords of The Manor Hotel (Cotswolds), Dixon has worked with some of the UK's leading chefs including Heston Blumenthal, Pierre Koffmann and David Everitt-Matthias.
This year, the pub was also made a new entry in the 2013 edition of The Good Food Guide.
Guests can dine from the Menu Auberge, available Monday-Saturday, which offers value - priced at £12 for two courses and £15 for three courses at lunch and at £15 for two courses and £19 for three courses at dinner.
Dishes include: Shepherd’s pie with lambs tongue and wild sea bass with roast cauliflower purée.
The White Oak, a Greene King lease, is owned by Henry and Katherine Cripps who also own The Greene Oak in Windsor and The Three Oaks in Gerrard’s Cross.
