21-year-old man charged with rape in Tilehurst

A 21-year-old man has been charged with the rape of a girl in Tilehurst.

Stewart Parnell, from Stour Close, Tilehurst, was arrested on Tuesday and charged yesterday.

The charges relate to the rape of a girl, who was under the age of 16, near to Lyon Square on Tuesday at about 9.30pm.

Parnell appeared at Reading Magistrates' Court yesterday and has been remanded in custody to appear at Reading Crown Court on May 12.
