Head coach Koulikov leaves Slough Jets to join Peterborough Phantoms

Slava Koulikov has dramtically quit as head coach of Slough Jets to take up the reins at English Premier League rivals Peterborough Phantoms.

Cash-strapped Jets have seen six players depart The Hangar in the last month, including three this week led by newly-appointed captain Dan Scott.

The exodus has now spread to the top with Koulikov jumping ship to take the player/coach's role at the Cambridgeshire club.

The Phantoms' website is reporting that Koulikov will remain in charge at the Jets for this weekend before moving to his new job on Monday.

In a statement, the Jets remarkably make no reference to Koulikov's departure, but merely announce that his successor will be current assistant coach Craig Moran.

Moran is quoted as saying: "I'm honoured to be asked to take the reins and I'd like to thank (owners) Zoran and Ghislaine for the opportunity and their faith in me.

"My first task obviously is to try and rebuild the team following the recent player departures.

"After losing so many top British players mid-season it is never going to be easy to replace them, I have spoke to a number of players already and hope to have signatures soon enabling me to announce some new blood joining the team."
