A veteran solicitor who made an amazing comeback last year is to remain president of Windsor's traders for another year - at the age of 82.
John Handcock, of Kingswood Rise, Englefield Green accepted an invitation last year to become joint president of Windsor District Chamber of Commerce, 50 years after first holding the post. He was seen as the ideal man during the Queen's Diamond Jubilee year, having played a leading role in the Silver Jubilee celebrations in 1977.
At yesterday's annual meeting of the Chamber, Mr Handcock agreed to stay in the post for another year - as the country prepares to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Queen's 1953 Coronation.
He will share the role for the second year running with veteran Ascot estate agent Antony Edwards - also a past president.
Amanda Gee will remain chairman for another year. While Martin Miranda, the manager of King Edward Court Shopping Centre will continue to share the role of secretary and treasurer.
