A scout group in Wraysbury is giving youngsters the chance to develop skills for life through new adventures and empowering activities.
Led by volunteers, the 1st Wraysbury Explorers have participated in a range of activities since opening in September last year including parkour pioneering, mountain biking camp, and a gang show with video creation.
Scouts provide more than 200 activities from coding and abseiling to drama and water-zorbing.
Through the activities, the youngsters have also developed skills including leadership, kindness through welcoming new members and helping each other and the courage to try new things.
Meeting in Wraysbury every other Wednesday evening the Explorers aged 14 to 17 will challenge themselves this summer through a range of activities.
Their upcoming adventures including kayaking (which starts on the first Wednesday in June), sailing, survival camp and the national live Monopoly competition.
An international skiing camp is also on the horizon for 2025.
Laura Sutton, Explorer leader of 1st Wraysbury Explorers, said: "Where else can you rock climb, kayak and camp, whilst sharing your love of the outdoors with likeminded teenagers?
“Plus it gives you so many skills to write about on your CV, or use in interviews.”
Explorer Daniel said: “I really enjoy trying new activities each week as it gives me the chance to build new skills, while also making new friends and catching up with old ones."
Through a range of adventures and activities, Explorers have been urged to ask the bigger questions, think on their feet, always have a plan B and work as part of a team.
Those interested in joining in with the activities can email Laura Sutton at: Laurasutton3010@gmail.com to find out more.
