Just under 3,000 people came to enjoy an afternoon of fun and entertainment on Saturday as the Christmas lights were switched on in Slough.
The popular event returned for the first time since 2019.
Crowds enjoyed an array of performances including headliner Apache Indian, the Creative Academy dancers, Signature Dhol Drummers, KSPARK Bollywood dancers, and Slough Community Youth Soul Choir.
Visitors to the event, which was organised by Slough BID and Asian Star Radio, having previously been run by Slough Borough Council (SBC), were also treated to the Soul Sistas, the Gaiczek Polish dance group, rap from Love Music Hate Violence and DJ Haashim from Asian Star Radio was host.
Taking place in the Town Square in Slough High Street from 1pm, the event also featured other treats including a Christmas market and the chance to see Father Christmas.
Crowds got the chance to see the skies light up at 5pm as the Christmas lights were switched on by Apache Indian.
A number of notable figures were also in attendance at the event, including Slough MP Tan Dhesi, Slough mayor Cllr Dilbagh Singh Parmar and mayoress Mrs Amarjit Parmar, Cllr Mohammed Nazir, and Cllr Christine Hulme.
Slough BID now organises events in the Slough High Street area to promote various factors including increasing footfall in the town, markets, safe shopping, entertainment, and a clean environment.
Slough BID aims to create a festive atmosphere in Slough to promote both the talent in the area and safe shopping.
Ray Siddique, Asian Star Radio’s managing director and one of the directors at Slough BID, said: “Both Slough BID and Asian Star Radio are ever so pleased with the overall event and its attendance, we felt that we brought to the stage acts that reflected the residents of Slough.”
