An inquest has concluded a woman who died after being hit by a train took her own life.
Nicola Dawn Walker, 47, of Upcroft, Windsor, died at Slough Railway Station after being hit by a train on Saturday, February 13.
An inquest at Reading Town Hall yesterday (Thursday) heard that she had a ‘complex medical history’ and suffered from bipolar effective disorder as well as emotional unstable personality disorder.
Ms Walker had made a call to the crisis team shortly before her death saying she felt suicidal, however a ‘misunderstanding’ led the conversation to focus on Ms Walker’s physical health and shortly afterward she hung up the phone.
In his conclusion, Mr Beford said: “Nothing I have seen or read leads me to believe that Nicola was abandoned by the mental health team or that she was failed in a significant way.
“Clearly a lot of effort by a lot of people during a long period of time went into understanding and treating her conditions.”
