Slough Town will travel to York City in the fourth round of the FA Trophy in January after the draw was made this afternoon (Monday) at Wembley.
The Rebels are set to visit the Minstermen at the York Community Stadium on Saturday, January 15, 3pm kick-off.
Two goals from Max Worsfold and another from Alfonso Tenconi helped them to a 3-1 victory over Eastbourne Borough in Saturday’s third round tie at Arbour Park. The Rebels were also indebted to a string of fine save from young goalkeeper Michael Edegbe for helping them reach this stage of the competition for the first time since 2004/05.
Like Slough, York City are just a handful of points off the play-off places in National League North. They edged past hosts Matlock Town in Saturday’s third round tie thanks to a last-gasp goal from Clayton Donaldson in a 1-0 win.
Joint manager Neil Baker said on Twitter: “What a game to look forward to, let’s hope for a big Rebels following.”
Games will go straight to penalties if scores are level after 90 minutes.
Winning clubs will receive £5,250 from the FA’s Prize Fund. Losing sides will get £1,500.
