LIVE FA Cup Second Round: Slough Town vs Macclesfield

Credit: Zak Rana

Full-time: Slough Town 1, Macclesfield 3

That's it. It's the second round and no further once again for the Rebels. They fought valiantly with only 10 men after Kiki Oshilaja was sent off conceding a penalty and Elliott made it 1-0 to Macclesfield. The Rebels battled back to equalise through Makowski's late penalty. In extra time James Edmonson came up with a moment of real quality to win it for the visitors. It was a goal worthy of winning any tie.

126' GOAL! Slough Town 1, Macclesfield 3 (Regan Griffiths)

Griffiths fires home to finish off the Rebels hopes! A loose ball from Slough is pounced upon and Griffiths drives the ball low past Desbois to make it 3-1.

125' Macclesfield win a late free kick and that might just be enough for them to run the clock down. 1-2

123' Goalkeeper Desbois sends in a cross from the right from Myers' short throw but the Macclesfield stopper collects it under pressure and wins a free kick. 1-2

121' Slough force a late corner through Walker! Greenidge almost forces another chance but Macclesfield just about survive! 1-2

120' Myers drives the ball right across the Macclesfield area and it flashes just past the post. So close to a leveller! The Rebels are piling on the pressure late on. five minutes for Slough to save this! 1-2

119' Two big saves from the Macclesfield keeper. The first from Greenidge's piledriver and then he gets back up to keep out Ojemen on the rebound. That was a big opportunity for the home side. 1-2

118: Jared Myers has looked lively for the Rebels since coming on.

'116: Slough win a free kick over on the right. It's sent towards Greenidge, but Macclesfield manage to clear the danger. Can the Rebels carve out one last chance?! 1-2

'112: The stretcher has come on for Lee. He's applauded off by the Macclesfield and Slough fans. With the delay, Slough still have around 10 minutes to try and conjure up an equaliser. 1-2 Both teams down to 10 men now because Macclesfield have used all of their replacements. It's more of a level playing field for the final minutes.

'109: Stoppage in play here after a nasty looking injury for Brandon Lee. He fell awkwardly there and looks to be in real pain. Hopefully not too serious. 1-2

'108: Slough still believe here. They're trying to press forward with 10 men but Macclesfield looking to catch them on the counter. 1-2

Half time: A wonder strike from James Edmonson has put Macclesfield within touching distance of the FA Cup third round. Can Slough did deep and find another leveller?

'103: Close for Slough! For a moment, Jared Myers' cross looks like it may catch out Max Dearnley in the Macclesfield goal. But the stopper palms it over for a corner kick.

'100: The whole away end is on their feet as Justin Johnson cuts in from the left hand channel and curls the ball onto the crossbar. There's been no let-up in the frenetic energy of this.

Goal: Slough Town 1-2 Macclesfield. The Silkmen have the lead and it's an incredible strike from James Edmonson. He picks the ball up 25 yards from goal and sends an unstoppable strike into the top corner. 'No goalkeeper in the world is saving that', say the Macclesfield commentators alongside me. It's hard to disagree.

Full-time: And breathe! We're heading to extra time after a pulsating second half. 10-man Slough have dragged themselves back into this and almost snatched an unlikely winner in nine minutes of injury time.

'95: Hearts in mouths for the visitors. Harvey Walker sends in a teasing cross which just evades Makowski. That would have brought the house down.

'90: We're into nine minutes of added time. Can either of these two find a winner?

'86: Penalty to Slough! How are your nerves Wiktor Makowski? Slough win a penalty of their own and after a nervy delay, the Rebels forward sends the goalkeeper the wrong way to send Arbour Park wild.

'84: Today's attendance is 2,500. A stadium record for Slough Town.

'81: Macclesfield work a free-kick to the edge of the area and James Edmonson fires his effort narrowly wide of the post. That was close.

'80: Final roll of the dice for Slough. Luke Holness and Jaiden Drakes-Thomas replace Tyrique Clarke and Ruben Shakpoke.

'76: Substitute Justin Johnson twists and turns in the penalty box for the visitors but his effort is deflected behind for a corner.

'72: Slough have brought Harvey Walker on for Johnny Goddard. Elliott has a chance for Macclesfield to cement the visitors lead but he curls a shot straight at Desbois. Can Slough care open an equaliser here?

'66: Penalty to Macclesfield and Kiki Oshilaja is sent off. His lunging challenge on Danny Elliott is adjudged to be a foul and the defender is dismissed for his second yellow card. Elliott picks himself up and sees his post deflect off the inside of the post and into the net.

'63: Jared Myers has just shown a glimpse of the blistering pace he possesses. He nicks in front of his man and bursts down the right hand channel but the ball is cut out. If Slough can find him in space, that could be their best route to goal.

'62: The Rebels are forced into another change. Peter Ojemen is on to replace the injured Tyrese Dyce.

'57: Macclesfield are much improved since the break. The visitors are now matching Slough in the duels and getting the ball down. Slough have responded by bringing Jared Myers on for Tarik Gidaree.

'52: How have Macclesfield not taken the lead? The ball is hoisted to the back post and a knockdown falls to Max Woltman but he somehow blazes the ball over. What an opportunity.

'48: What a save! A deep corner is swung in by Macclesfield. Luke Fensome ghosts round the back and looks certain to score but Adam Desbois turns it over one-handed. Incredible reaction.

'46: Back underway here at Arbour Park. A pivotal 45 minutes awaits.

'45+2: Scare for Slough on the stroke of half-time. Danny Elliott's free-kick is spilled by Desbois but the Slough stopper is up quickly to smother the rebound. And that's half time.

'45: Chance for Macclesfield. Mellor scampers down the left-hand side before squaring for Danny Elliott. Reiss Greenidge makes a big interception to stop the goalbound effort.

'42: Slough clear their lines and the Rebels have a potential two-on-two situation. Menayese intervenes and catches Makowski and picks up the yellow card for the visitors.

'39: Macclesfield have a good sight of goal from the resulting free-kick but Luke Duffy's effort is tame and Desbois collects it comfortably.

'38: Let off for the Rebels. Kiki Oshilaja is caught on the ball by D'Mani Mellor. The Rebels defender chases back but fouls the forward in the process. Yellow card.

'35: A glimpse of an opening spurned by Slough. Wiktor Makowski is slipped through into open space but Rollin Menayese is too strong for him and averts the danger.

'30: Half an hour in and we've still yet to have a big chance for either side. Considering what's at stake, it's perhaps unsurprising.

'20: Sitting this close to the visiting supporters gives a good flavour of how they are feeling about the opening 20 minutes. They want to see the Silkmen get the ball down. At the moment, Slough aren't letting that happen.

'14: Slough win a free-kick about 25 yards from goal and it's almost certainly in the Scott Davies arc. Let's see what the set-piece specialist can do...straight into the wall.

'11: Slough have settled well into this. Tarik Gidaree has just flashed the ball across the goal but the Rebels didn't gamble to try and turn it home.

'5: Adam Desbois is posing an early threat with his distribution. He's arrowed a few balls in behind for Wiktor Makowski who looks dangerous with his running.

'1: Early pressure from the visitors who win an early corner. Adam Desbois makes a strong early claim which will be a good nerve settler.

Kick-off is approaching at a rainy sold-out Arbour Park. The atmosphere is bubbling away, boosted by the legions of Silkmen supporters who have made the trip down.

The TV cameras are here and former England and Tottenham Hotspur manager Glenn Hoddle is also among a packed-out press box.
