Desborough’s Century finallists

Desborough bowlers James Lynch, Clive Watson, Mark Essex, and Kevin Scrace reached the final of the Century Indoor Bowls Annual Invitational event this week, losing out by the narrowest of margins on an extra end after the match was tied.
They were one of two Deborough teams to compete at the event with Andrew Essex, Mark Peachey, Keith Roper, and Colin Jones also doing well to reach the semi-finals. ‘
Twenty-four teams took part in the Invitational event.
Desborough also welcomed Ladygate to Green Lane for a five triples match this week where they ran out comfortable 30-shot winners (97-67).
With only one rink losing, the rinks skipped by David Perriman, Dave Webster and Brian Jones returned winning scorecards, but they couldn’t eclipse Marsha Buckles and the White brothers, Trevor and Michael, who won by 23 shots (35 -12).
