Marlow’s men’s and women’s hockey teams will both be playing National League level hockey this autumn after the men’s team secured promotion from the South Central Premier Division to the Conference West last season.

The Reds get their Conference West campaign underway with a home game against Team Bath Buccaneers on Sunday, having finished last season clear of their rivals at the top of the league.

The men won 18 of their 22 matches to finish nine points clear of closest challengers Trojans 1sts at the top of the table. They lost only two matches all season and will hope to maintain that winning mentality when they step up to the National League Conference West.

They begin their campaign with two home matches at Pound Lane against Team Bath on Sunday (September 21, 2.45pm pushback) and Clifton Robinsons (September 28 (2.245pm pushback). Their first road match follows on October 5 at the University of Exeter M2.

Marlow’s women’s team are competing in the equivalent Conference West women’s league, and their season starts at Pound Lane this Saturday against Team Bath Buccaneers 1st (3pm start).

The Reds managed to secure their place in the division in the final weeks of the season with a 3-0 win over Swansea at home, a result which also confirmed their opponent’s relegation.

They’ll also start with two home matches against Team Bath and Clifton Robinsons 2nds (Saturday, September 27) before going to Cardiff & Met 1sts for their first away game on Saturday, October 4.

Maidenhead Women’s first team begin their South Central Women's Premier Division 1 campaign with a home game against Fareham 1sts at Altwood School on Saturday.

Maidenhead managed to finish just outside of the bottom two in the Premier Division last season and will be hoping to nudge their way up the table with some improved results and performances this season.

After hosting Fareham, they visit Oxford 1sts on Saturday, September 27 and then go to Amersham & Chalfont on Saturday, October 4.

Slough’s men will be looking to compete at the right end of the South Central Premier Division 1 table - and possibly even compete for promotion to the National Leagues this season. They begin their season at Fareham 2nds this Saturday, host Oxford University 1sts the following Saturday (September 27) and are back on the road at Reading 2nds on October 4.
