A man who sold more than 450,000 doses of unlicensed erective dysfunction medication has been handed 10 months in prison.
Atilla Fodor, of Arthur Road, Datchet, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court yesterday (Tuesday).
Analysis of the 38-year old’s computer found that he had sold more than 451,000 doses of unlicensed erectile dysfunction medicines, netting him more than £27,000.
During a raid of his home more than 267,000 doses of the unlicensed medicine were found in a garden shed, with an estimated value of more than £500,000.
Head of enforcement at the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, Alastair Jeffrey, said: “Selling unlicensed medicines is illegal and can pose a serious risk to health.
“Unlicensed medicines can be dangerous as they may contain impurities, incorrect ingredients, and there is no way of knowing if they are manufactured to acceptable standards of quality and safety.
“Criminals involved in the illegal supply of medical products aren’t interested in your health - they are only interested in your money.”
