The 2014 Gravity Grand Prix returned to Cookham Dean with a bumper 28 entries.
The novelty prize was won by Richard Bate’s Grand Day Out, driven by Wallace and Gromit. Wonka 1, which had 400 lollipops stuck to it, came in second.
2019: The ninth annual Maidenhead Half Marathon saw hundreds of runners take to the streets for that ‘unique Maidenhead feeling’.

Participants aged up to 81 revelled in the atmosphere created by volunteers and residents who came out to support them across the course, which took them up to Cookham.
More than 1,500 people finished the half marathon.
2019: Hundreds of people turned out to fly their kites on Punt Hill at an event described as ‘a perfect end to the summer holidays’.

It was the second Community Kite Festival organised by Norden Farm.
As well as shop-bought kites, people flew handmade creations made at kite workshops put on by Norden Farm and led by the Community Kite Project.
