2009: Giant vegetables, dressed-up ponies, agile dogs and fairground rides were among the delights laid out for the 75th Littlewick Show.

Vintage cars were also on show for the family day out at its Ascot Road venue on Bank Holiday Monday.

2014: Precious cargo passed through Cookham Lock as part of a celebration of the River Thames.

For the 2014 Source to Sea River Relay, a bottle of water from the source in Gloucestershire made its way down the river as part of the month-long Totally Thames event.

Champion rowers from Maidenhead Rowing Club’s junior girls’ squad ferried the shipment from Cookham Lock to Bray Lock in the 11th leg of the journey.

2014: Doctor Who was joined by Bill and Ben, Wallace and Gromit and Willy Wonka for a popular village go-kart race.

The 2014 Gravity Grand Prix returned to Cookham Dean with a bumper 28 entries.

The novelty prize was won by Richard Bate’s Grand Day Out, driven by Wallace and Gromit. Wonka 1, which had 400 lollipops stuck to it, came in second.

2019: The ninth annual Maidenhead Half Marathon saw hundreds of runners take to the streets for that ‘unique Maidenhead feeling’.

Participants aged up to 81 revelled in the atmosphere created by volunteers and residents who came out to support them across the course, which took them up to Cookham.

More than 1,500 people finished the half marathon.

2019: Hundreds of people turned out to fly their kites on Punt Hill at an event described as ‘a perfect end to the summer holidays’.

It was the second Community Kite Festival organised by Norden Farm.

As well as shop-bought kites, people flew handmade creations made at kite workshops put on by Norden Farm and led by the Community Kite Project.
