A nationwide carpets and floors retailer has closed its store in Maidenhead High Street, following the opening of a new store in Stafferton Way last year.

Tapi Carpets & Floors opened the doors to its new store at unit 3 at the retail park in November last year.

The company was established in 2015 by a handful of specialists from the flooring industry and provides a range of carpets, vinyl, luxury vinyl, laminate and wood flooring options.

In July 2025, Tapi brought Carpetright after the company went into administration.

The move included taking over 54 stores from Carpetright across the region.

The new store in Stafferton Way adds to Tapi’s portfolio of more than 200 stores across the country.

Following its opening, the existing Tapi store in Maidenhead High Street continued to trade.

However, signs have recently appeared on the windows of the store stating ‘we’ve relocated to our new superstore’ at the Stafferton Way Retail Park.

Tapi declined to comment.
