Man who died after falling from London rooftop bar thought to be dad behind ShakeAway in Windsor

Tributes have been paid to the man behind the ShakeAway milkshake bar in Windsor who is believed to have died after falling from a rooftop bar in London. 

City of London Police confirmed a man had been pronounced dead after falling from the Double Tree by Hilton hotel in Pepys Street on Thursday.

He has been identified on social media as Nathan Lowe, 45, who grew up in Stoke Poges and went to Upton Grammar School and East Berkshire College.

Mr Lowe, who previously worked as a mortgage advisor, opened ShakeAway in Windsor’s Peascod Street in 2009 and told the Express at the time that he had the idea after seeing his children’s reaction to a similar shop in Brighton.

Friends of Mr Lowe have been paying tribute to the dad on social media.

Former business partner, James Fox, wrote on Facebook: “Just remembering all the extremely funny and amazing memories I have of Nathan Lowe.

“From creating ShakeAway Windsor together to having him and his dad at Maximum Battle recently.

“He would always turn up at my birthday with 10+ presents from Black Lace album to size 60" waist trousers. And would belt out 'Figaro' in public on many occasion. Such a tragedy. RIP.”

A spokesman for the City of London Police said: “Police and London Ambulance Service were called at 4.51pm to reports of a man, believed to be in his 40s, that had fallen from a building in Pepys Street.

“He was initially in a serious condition and then pronounced dead at the scene.”

City of London Police said the incident was ‘not being treated as suspicious’ and confirmed the case had been passed onto the City of London coroner.
