A photography exhibition which captures the spirit of the Olympics has opened in the village.
Gareth Jones’s ‘Faster Higher Stronger’ exhibition is now open at the HaaHoos café in Church Street, and includes action shots of the triple Olympic gold medal-winning cyclist Sir Chris Hoy and hockey stars Alex Danson and Jonty Clarke.
The images will be displayed at the café until Friday, August 31.
Gareth, who lives in the village, thanked the HaaHoos manager Sian Castleman for helping to make it happen.
This month has also seen the closure of the pop up More Arts Gallery in Station Road, after the landlord found a new tenant for the building.
The Cultural Partnership, also known as More Arts, breathed fresh life into the empty shop unit by transforming it into a gallery where artists have displayed their work.
The idea was also backed by the Twyford Village Partnership (TVP).
“It fits so well with what we do and we would love to see people coming in to look at the exhibitions and they could stay and enjoy a cup of coffee and homemade tea,” said Sian.
Terri Jones, known for her portraits of pets and people, said: “It’s a shame that we’ve lost the community gallery in Station Road, but it’s great that Sian has asked us to move to HaaHoos.”
Gareth, from Sports-alive photography added: “The events depicted should show how exciting the Olympics will be when the games commence.”
HaaHoos is open Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm, Sunday 10am - 4pm.
